Rib Lath | Galvanized Expanded Metal Lath for Stucco and Plaster
Rib Lath is a reinforced expanded metal lath manufactured from galvanized steel sheet with continuous ribs for enhanced strength and rigidity. It is widely used for stucco, plaster, ceiling, soffit, and concrete reinforcement applications.
In North American construction applications, 3/8" Rib Lath is one of the most commonly used specifications for stucco and plaster systems. With its reinforced V-shaped ribs and expanded metal mesh structure, 3/8" Rib Lath provides excellent rigidity, dimensional stability, and mechanical bonding for cement plaster and stucco finishes. It is widely installed on soffits, ceilings, walls, and concrete reinforcement applications where a strong plaster base is required. The 3/8" rib profile offers an ideal balance between strength, weight, and installation flexibility, making it suitable for standard framing systems and commonly used construction practices throughout North America.ALLIEDMESH 3/8" Rib Lath is manufactured from hot-dipped galvanized steel and is available in standard North American sizes, with customized specifications available to meet different project requirements.
3/8" High Rib Lath is a high-strength expanded metal lath designed for horizontal applications, including soffits, ceilings, and reinforced concrete floor systems. It features seven continuous longitudinal V-shaped ribs with a depth of 3/8" running along the sheet length at 4-1/2" intervals, providing superior rigidity and load-bearing performance.Additional flat ribs enhance the overall stiffness of the sheet, making High Rib Lath the most rigid type of metal lath available. It is especially suitable for applications requiring wider framing spacing, supporting installations from 16" up to 24" on center. The herringbone mesh pattern provides excellent mechanical bonding between stucco, plaster, and the metal lath, ensuring strong adhesion and long-term durability. It is widely used for suspended ceilings, soffits, steel or wood joist construction, and metal-reinforced concrete structures.Note: High Rib Lath is not recommended for curved or contour plaster applications.
3/8" High Rib Lath conforms to or exceeds the following standards :
ASTM A653 – Standard Specification for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy-Coated by the Hot-Dip Process
ASTM C847 – Standard Specification for Metal Lath
ASTM C1063 – Standard Specification for Installation of Lathing and Furring for Portland Cement-Based Plaster
